You cannot get a Wyoming Instruction Permit entirely online.
You cannot get a Wyoming Instruction Permit entirely online. State law requires an in-person visit to a WYDOT Driver Services exam station for identity verification, a vision screening, the knowledge exam, and photo capture.
Starting the permit process in oneWYO does not replace the in-person document review for a first learner permit. Bring the required documents to the exam station even if the portal lets you enter information or upload material for another Driver Services task.
Can you save a Wyoming permit application online and finish it later? Portal behavior can change, so do not assume an unfinished draft will be saved indefinitely. If you stop partway through, sign back in and confirm the application is still available before your office visit.
The current regular Class C/permit fee is $45. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the application.
Many applicants assume they can apply for a permit online like in some other states. In Wyoming, the online application process is only for pre-filling; final submission and testing are always in-person.
Another common misunderstanding is about virtual permit testing. Wyoming does not offer remote proctoring for the knowledge exam; it must be taken on a computer at a state exam station.
Wyoming does not currently issue a digital instruction permit. The separate digital-permit article covers what counts as an official credential.
Correct information before the permit is finalized whenever the portal allows it. If a field cannot be changed online, tell the examiner about the mistake at the office before you sign or complete the transaction.
Wyoming Driver Services provides online tools to support the permit process, but first-time issuance requires an in-person visit.

A parent or guardian can help a minor with the process, but oneWYO uses a login.gov account and links to the applicant's Driver Services record. Use the applicant's correct information, and contact Driver Services if the record cannot be linked. The parent or legal guardian must still sign the application for an applicant under 18.
Office schedules and wait patterns vary by location. Check the current exam-station schedule before traveling, especially for rural locations, and use the dedicated appointment/hours guidance for timing details.
For Wyoming permit process details, see the Wyoming permit guide.
You can check your permit status online through the oneWYO portal. This system shows if your permit is active, but does not track card mailing.
The plastic permit card is mailed after issuance. Standard delivery is 10-14 business days. If your status is 'Active' but the card hasn't arrived after 30 days, contact Driver Services at (307) 777-4817.
What if oneWYO does not recognize your permit or personal information? Make sure you are using the correct login.gov account and that the identifying details match your Driver Services record. If the record still will not connect, contact Wyoming Driver Services at 307-777-4800 rather than creating conflicting information.
Enter your Social Security number on the application. Separate proof of the SSN is recommended, not always required.
Complete the current Form 10-4003 before your visit when possible and double-check names, dates and required signatures.
If the knowledge test computer freezes at the Gillette station, do not restart it yourself. Immediately notify the examiner to record the issue and avoid a potential test failure mark on your record.
There is no official Wyoming WYDOT Driver Services mobile app. All online services are accessed through the oneWYO portal via a web browser on any device.
Wyoming does not issue digital driver's licenses. You must carry your physical permit card.
"The AI mock tests were surprisingly realistic. The explanations for road signs helped me understand the logic, not just memorize. Passed my permit test on the first try!"
