If your Kansas learner's permit is lost, stolen, or damaged, replace it before driving again. Kansas requires the valid permit to be in your possession while you drive.
Use a Kansas driver licensing office for a replacement learner's permit. KDOR's current replacement instructions direct applicants to the driver licensing process, and its online-services list does not list an online learner-permit replacement option. Do not assume an online receipt, screenshot, or mailed request replaces the physical permit.
If you are temporarily outside Kansas, contact KDOR before sending any form. Kansas publishes a mail replacement process for qualifying driver's-license holders who are temporarily out of state, but that guidance should not be assumed to cover a learner's permit.
KDOR's current replacement checklist requires:
The current Kansas fee chart lists a $16 replacement fee for a driver's license or learner's permit. Do not add a separate $5 county surcharge to the statewide replacement total unless the specific office tells you a separate local charge applies.
You need the valid permit in your possession while driving. If the licensing office gives you a temporary credential during the replacement transaction, carry that temporary credential as directed until the permanent card arrives. An application receipt or phone image is not a substitute for the issued permit.
KDOR says most mailed credentials arrive in about 14–20 days, but delivery can take up to 45 days. Credentials are not forwarded by USPS, so make sure your residential and mailing information is correct before the replacement is issued.

"The AI mock tests were surprisingly realistic. The explanations for road signs helped me understand the logic, not just memorize. Passed my permit test on the first try!"
