Nevada instruction-permit visits require an appointment. DMV services are appointment-only statewide except for a few listed transaction types that do not include permit applications.
Nevada DMV requires appointments for instruction-permit services at both metropolitan and rural offices. Rural offices moved to appointment-only service on December 22, 2025.

One applicant had a Nevada DMV appointment on Nevada Day. The office was closed. Nevada Day is a state-only holiday not shown on most calendars. They rebooked after checking the Nevada DMV holiday schedule.
If you miss your slot by more than 10-15 minutes, the DMV may release it. There is no separate penalty fee, but you lose the reserved slot and must book a new appointment through WaitWell.
Your spot may be released to another customer after 10-15 minutes past your scheduled time. A Henderson applicant arrived 20 minutes late for a 2:00 p.m. slot due to traffic on I-215. The DMV had already released the slot, forcing a reschedule for a date 3 weeks later.
Nevada DMV lets you view and modify an existing appointment through its appointment system. If another full-service office has a better opening, modify the booking for that location and keep the correct permit service type.
