An Oklahoma motorcycle endorsement does not transfer to Class D vehicles. If you want to drive a car, you start the learner permit process from scratch - but you only need 30 days of holding time, not 6 months.
Yes. An Oklahoma motorcycle endorsement does not transfer to Class D vehicles. To practice driving a car or light truck, you must get a separate Class D learner's permit, pass the 20-question written test, and hold the permit for at least 30 days before your road test.
| License Type | Vehicles Covered | Transfers to Other Class? |
|---|---|---|
| 'M' / 'L' Endorsement | Motorcycles, motor-driven cycles (two- or three-wheel only) | ✗ No |
| Class D | Cars, light trucks, vans/RVs under 26,001 lbs GVWR | ✗ No |
Full Oklahoma permit rules are at the Oklahoma learner's permit guide.
Can I hold an Oklahoma motorcycle license and a Class D learner's permit at the same time? Yes. The Class D learner privilege can be added while your motorcycle privilege remains on the Oklahoma credential.
Will I lose my motorcycle endorsement when I add a Class D license? No. Adding Class D does not automatically remove the motorcycle endorsement; both privileges can appear on the same credential.
You must take the full 20-question Class D written knowledge test - there is no waiver for motorcycle license holders. A vision screening is also required. Hold the permit at least 30 days, then pass a separate Class D road skills test.

"The AI mock tests were surprisingly realistic. The explanations for road signs helped me understand the logic, not just memorize. Passed my permit test on the first try!"
