The ASP skills-test checklist is separate from DFA license-issuance paperwork.
Bring the applicant's original instruction permit, a valid licensed driver, current proof of insurance for the test vehicle, and current vehicle registration.
This is the ASP skills-test checklist. DFA can require separate identity, age, residency, or other paperwork when completing license issuance after the test.
No. A birth certificate is not one of the current ASP skills-test checklist items. DFA may still require identity or age documents later when completing license issuance.
The current ASP skills-test checklist instructs applicants with immigration documents to bring those documents on each visit. Keep them with the other required road-test paperwork when this applies to you.

The ASP-33 is not one of the four items on the current ASP skills-test checklist. Its financial-responsibility section is separate application paperwork for applicants under 18.
When the ASP-33 financial-responsibility section is required for a minor applicant, the parent or legal guardian signature must follow the form's notarization requirements. Do not treat ASP-33 as a universal road-test document for every applicant.
The current ASP skills-test checklist does not add a DL-22 driving log, 50 supervised hours, 10 night hours, or a birth certificate simply because the applicant is under 18.
Minor applicants can still have separate application and graduated-license requirements outside the road-test checklist. Check the Required Documents and Application Form pages for those items.
The test vehicle must meet ASP safety requirements and have current registration and insurance. If it fails the pre-test vehicle check, the skills test will not begin with that vehicle.
For lights, tires, mirrors, windshield, seat belts, warning lights and other equipment details, use the dedicated Vehicle Requirements — Road Test page.
Common road-test document problems include arriving without the original instruction permit, bringing expired registration or insurance, or arriving without a valid licensed driver. Also check that the vehicle information on your documents matches the vehicle you bring.
Check the insurance effective dates and vehicle registration before leaving home. If you plan to show electronic insurance, make sure the proof is accessible at the appointment.
If a required ASP skills-test item is missing, the examiner cannot administer the test until the requirement is met.
Check the original instruction permit, licensed driver, current insurance and registration before traveling to the test site. For rescheduling details, use the dedicated appointment guidance.
Bring current vehicle registration and current proof of insurance for the vehicle used in the skills test. The current ASP checklist allows paper or electronic proof of insurance, so make sure an electronic card is accessible at the appointment and matches the test vehicle.
Lay out the original permit and vehicle documents before the appointment. Check registration and insurance dates, make sure electronic proof is accessible if you plan to use it, and confirm that the accompanying driver has a valid license.
"The AI mock tests were surprisingly realistic. The explanations for road signs helped me understand the logic, not just memorize. Passed my permit test on the first try!"
