Bring the correct paperwork to your ICBC road test. Missing documents cause immediate cancellation.
You must present physical documents. Digital copies are not accepted for the driving test.
| Category | What to have ready |
|---|---|
| Candidate ID | One accepted primary ID and one accepted secondary ID. Your current licence may be one of the accepted pieces if it meets ICBC's ID rules. |
| Payment | Bring the applicable road-test payment method. The Class 7 road-test fee is $35; the $50 Class 5 road-test fee applies when an actual Class 5 road test is required. |
| Vehicle | Current registration and insurance, plus any other vehicle documents required for the vehicle you bring. |
| Special authorization | For a car-share/co-op or other special vehicle situation, bring any authorization ICBC requires. |
| Optional preparation records | A practice log can help you prepare, but the recommended 60 hours are not a mandatory document requirement. |
Class 7 candidates also need to meet the GLP eligibility rules.
No. ICBC recommends about 60 hours of supervised practice, but you do not have to submit a mandatory 60-hour log or declaration as a road-test document.
Not every Class 7 candidate needs a course certificate because approved driver training is optional. If you completed an approved course and need proof of completion for a specific licensing benefit, confirm that the course has been properly recorded and bring any documentation ICBC or the school tells you is required.
If you are missing required ID or vehicle paperwork, ICBC may be unable to start the test and you may have to rebook. Required corrective lenses or other licence conditions must also be followed.
For vehicle-specific rejection reasons, warning lights and safety defects, use the dedicated Vehicle Requirements page rather than duplicating the full checklist here.
Yes. ICBC currently requires one accepted primary ID and one accepted secondary ID at a road test.
Do you need to know the vehicle's licence-plate number at road-test check-in? Yes. ICBC tells candidates to provide the vehicle's plate number at the counter.
Can a certified true copy be used as accepted ID at ICBC? ICBC accepts an original identification document or a true copy certified by the government agency that issued the document.
Check your licence for any conditions such as required corrective lenses and follow them on test day. Class 7L candidates must also arrive under the current supervisor rules.

"The AI mock tests were surprisingly realistic. The explanations for road signs helped me understand the logic, not just memorize. Passed my permit test on the first try!"
